Monday Chair #7

Wow how time flies  - it has been over two months since my last post on "The Monday Chair". Well I'm writing this for tomorrow Monday and wanted to share my all time favorite outside chair, or should I say pew.  I have had this bench/pew that I absolutely love - it's old, worn and very chippy.  It has been home to a few bottoms, many naps, good reads, star gazing at night and just a place to sit a spell and spend some quiet time.  It is very primitive in its original state and I decided to part with it due to space but it went to a good home in San Diego county, thanks Eyvette.  She's going to use it around her farmhouse table. Trust you enjoy it ( & love it) as much as I did.  But I decided to also have the replica for sale patterned after that same primitive bench/pew.  It will be available in various Milk Paint finishes; just contact me at whitehousebluegarden@aim.com.  PS - there is a little history to that bench, it came from a an old time plantation church in South Carolina.  Love the simplicity of it.  Grab a seat and take 5, you deserve it!    Toodles!

Monday Chair #6

So it's Monday & I missed my early morning post; so I decided to do an early evening post on the Monday chair.  There is nothing better than a good read in your Monday chair. If you have been reading my Monday chair post you will know what this is all about.  Now that summer is officially here take time out to sit a spell in your favorite chair - be thankful for Monday as much as we are on Friday.  Since I work outside my home today is my Friday, off for three straight days and I plan on getting a  gorgeous piece waxed tomorrow.  I will post the ugly duckling that was screaming "make me pretty again" tomorrow.  So grab that glass of ice tea, mint water or whatever your choice of beverage is, take 5 & sit a spell - YOU deserve it!.  Take a look at a little inspiration.  Toodles!

Monday Chair #5

Happy Monday & Happy Memorial Day!

The red, white & blue adirondack chairs are a perfect Monday chair to sit and start the day saying "thank you".  Foremost for me is thanking God for another beautiful day, another day to honor our country and what Memorial Day's initial sentiment was.  Make sure to enjoy today with family & friends.  So if it's that beach trip, BBQ, super sale, block buster movie or just lazing around,  take the time to celebrate our freedom and remember those who fought to honor it.  Toodles & Happy Memorial Day!

Monday Chair #4

Happy Monday!  Here we are more than half way through May already, pretty soon it will be Christmas, hah hah! Today as I prayed I asked for direction and expansion of time for this week. So many things to accomplish like moving our furniture out of one storage and bringing it all to the studio for organizing & painting, getting some pieces completed, staying on top of what paints & supplies we need, tagging & cataloging both prices & colors. God will not give us more than we can handle, I have to keep that in the forefront of my mind.

Monday Chair #3

Happy Monday - A new week and a new month; the merry month of May. May flowers, Mother's Day.
Today I'm sharing another Monday Chair - today it is a bench.  I gave the bench below to Fats on his 40th birthday and as you can see by the placard, it has weathered many a storm and blistering heat.  Recently I decided it needed some refreshing, so I painted it with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Arles (which is a pale yellow), added the cushion and pillows and wahlah!  Another one of my favorite places to sit and for me to say "hello Lord".  Is the color fun? Makes you happy - toodles!

The definition of hap.py - feeling or showing pleasure or contentment, fortunate, lucky (I believe in favor), favorable, merry, joyful, grateful.

I know this is not real but a rubber toy - isn't he cute?  How much more could a real happy person make one's day or week better?  Go out a bless someone with happiness!

The Monday Chair #2

Hello housegarden friends - today is Monday & I just wanted to share my "Monday Chair" with you.  There is nothing better than sitting in your favorite chair, with your favorite drink and taking that "ahh" moment, 15 minutes, an hour or however long you have to say I can tackle, plan & accomplish anything I set my mind to do this week.  Even if it is just one thing - mission accomplished.  Toodles!

The Monday Chair #1

Today I started a new post titled ,The Monday Chair.  Some of us have looked at Mondays as "oh no" it back to work, instead of looking at it as a start to another great week.  I know I was there.  I now look to my Monday Chair (MC) as a place I can sit (even if it's for 5 minutes) and thank God I'm blessed with another week, another day.  Life is hectic and if you take time for yourself to create that special MC to just sit and say "ahh", you will have made it past go. I encourage you to carve out a space for YOU, whether it's a chair or bench, soft or hard (I have a hard Windsor I love), big or little, inside or out.  So take a seat in your MC, close your eyes and breath ; before you blink your eyes it will be Friday - Ahh!
